Border Project

I'm interested in the border as a symbol of political unrest, as the solution for protection from Mexico's cartel related violence, and as a summarized place that cannot actually be summarized as one way or the other. Analyzing the border, with the point of view of the larger majority of the US in mind, I search for the quieter moments, as Trump focusses on prototypes of a "New Wall" that would cost our already struggling country billions of dollars.

This project is not political, but is influenced by US politics and the US news media. The first time I saw the border wall, I was driving through El Paso on the way to Tucson, AZ. Seeing the unmistakeable contrast between El Paso, TX and Ciudad Juarez, MX was startling and what has pushed me to continue this project, made up of five trips to the border and consisting of pictures from 4 US states and 5 Mexican states.I'm interested in the border as a symbol of political unrest, as the solution for protection from Mexico's cartel related violence, and as a summarized place that cannot actually be summarized as one way or the other.
